(MPI) - Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung hosted a reception in Hanoi on June 22 for Chairman of CJ Group Kyung Shik Sohn, during which the host said Vietnam encourages CJ Group continue to invest large-scale projects in the country while affirming to create all optimal conditions for Korean investors to do safe and long-term business.

Minister Dung welcomed Sohn and the business delegation accompanying President of the Republic of Korea (RoK) Yoon Suk Yeol on their State visit to Vietnam from June 22-24. The Korean President’s visit is expected to further promote economic cooperation and open a new chapter in the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea (RoK), with many important documents will be exchanged.
He hailed that the Group always put confidence, implement investment commitments and expand their operations in the country in various fields such as food processing, livestock farming, biology, logistics and cultural and entertainment industry, which creating jobs, improve living standards for people and contributing to the country’s development.
The minister encourages CJ Group to expand investment in Vietnam, making the country become a production hub. The Group should act as a bridge to promote other Korean firm to seek investment opportunity in here, he continued.
Sohn expressed his delight at the support of the Vietnamese Government to the Group’s activities. CJ Group has 24 companies operating in Vietnam with more than 1 billion USD and nearly 10 thousand employees.
He added that CJ plans to build a logistic hub, expand production in veterinary drugs, biotechnology, implementation of ESG (environment-society-governance) model and renewable energy in the country.
Over the years, CJ has its investments in many key industries and support personnel training in Vietnam. Sohn hoped that CJ Group will continue make contribution to the socio-economic development of Vietnam.
Agreeing with CJ’s orientation, Mnister Dung said Vietnam always supports the Group’s projects with priority given to lower the costs to support businesses. He suggested that CJ cooperate with the National Innovation Centre (NIC) to do research in technology transfer and application of high-tech products to agricultural enterprises.
The Ministry of Planning and Investment is willing to work closely with CJ Group to remove facing obstacles and create the most favorable conditions for Korean investors to invest and do business in Vietnam./.
