Deputy Minister Phuong thanked WB for their close cooperation with Vietnam, successfully carrying out many investment projects in infrastructure, education and training, health care, poverty reduction as well as providing policy advice on macroeconomic development and technical assistance for Vietnam.
He also noted with pleasure at the draft Country Partnership Framework (CPF), which outlines the WB’s support for Vietnam for the 2023-2027 period with many priorities and specific solutions.
The deputy minister suggested the WB considers more flexible criteria and requirements in their loans for Vietnam so as to increase effectiveness of WB-funded projects, and continues to study new projects that match both sides’ concerns.
For his part, Saputra congratulated Vietnam on its impressive development achievements, stressing that it is becoming a bright spot in the region and the world.
To make sure the CPF is aligned with the government’s demands, he called for close engagement of all stakeholders to ensure it meets Vietnam’s goals.
The WB will provide assistance for their partners in resilience strengthening, finance and green credit management and climate change mitigation, towards sustainable growth. The WB's priorities highly match Vietnam’s development targets, he added, affirming the WB's continued support for the country.
The two sides had exchanged views on facing obstacles in the implementation of the WB’s loans, and came up with new orientations to promote the fruitful cooperation between Vietnam, including the MPI, and the WB, soon bringing benefits to locals./.
