According to Deputy Minister Dong, Vietnam’s macroeconomic situation has recovered and achieved robust growth recently despite facing many challenges worldwide, such as impact of the pandemic, global supply chain disruption, and geopolitical competition.

Vietnam’s foreign direct investment (FDI) landscape has thrived over recent years amid global difficulties. Total registered FDI in Vietnam surpassed 13.43 billion USD in the first half of this year, and the disbursement of FDI projects were estimated at 10.02 billion USD.

Currently, Japan is Vietnam’s second largest investor with 2.21 billion USD, accounting for 16.4% of the total investment capital; and ranks third among 142 countries and territories investing in the nation. The deputy minister spoke highly of business and production activities of Japanese firms operating here.

Vietnam is also implementing various solutions to support enterprises and create an optimal business climate to help solve difficulties for them, including FDI ones. The country steps up cooperation with many major countries, and also prepares for expansion in the Middle East market with the new signed free trade agreements with Israel.

For his part, Tatani said Mizuno Corporation has focused on developing sport products since its foundation in 1906. The company is having a plan to cooperate with Vietnam’s NVB company on the establishment of sport equipment manufacturing factory in Vietnam, he said, adding that the company looks forward to further promote their operation in Vietnam.

Deputy Minister Dong expressed his impression on Mizuno’s success since Japanese products, including those of the company, are often use by both Vietnamese people and globally.

He hailed the company’ choice of Vietnam as an investment location, stressing that Vietnam is a potential market and also a favorable investment location of many sportswear manufacturers since it owns young and abundant human resources, diverse ecosystem and supporting business chain./.
